Last week Bone Cancer Research Trust visited us at Springfield House to receive donations raised by our fundraising activities. This included sponsorship from Jean and Kat’s Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, which they undertook in July 2018. Hiking 24 gruelling miles and climbing 5200ft they completed the challenge in under 11 hours and 30 minutes, successfully raising funds for this great cause. Xiros also hosted a cream tea event for staff to add to the total.
Through these donations, Bone Cancer Research Trust can fund over 50 hours of pioneering research or provide training for 5 junior doctors on BCRT’s National Sarcoma Awareness Programme, empowering them with potentially lifesaving knowledge of red-flag symptoms.
At Xiros we have continually supported Bone Cancer Research Trust over the past year, and our employees have shown great enthusiasm and support for this cause. We have donated unwanted furniture to their offices and provided free use of our meeting room for first aid training of the BCRT team, all of which allows funds to be focused on the things that matter most!
Bone Cancer Research Trust are committed to fighting primary bone cancer, making a difference through research and providing a supportive network for those affected by the disease. Their work is invaluable, aiming to be a catalyst for research that saves lives and improves patient outcomes. To find out more and to donate please visit: www.bcrt.org.uk/
