Chopping for Charity

Xiros’ Customer Services Team Leader, Jennifer Peat, has recently undergone a sponsored haircut in aid of two cancer charities, Cancer Research and the Little Princess Trust.

The drastic haircut has raised a total of £840 plus Gift Aid, which will be donated to Cancer Research, while Jennifer’s actual hair, measuring in at 14.5 inches, will be donated to the Little Princess Trust.

The Little Princess Trust is a charity which provides real-hair wigs free of charge to children who have lost their own hair to cancer. Around 4 inches of length is lost when making a wig due to the intricate knotting process, so the Little Princess Trust request that any hair donations are at least 7 inches long. Donations that measure between 7 – 12 inches are used to make shorter wigs for both girls and boys, while donations that measure 12 inches or more are blended with hair of a similar colour and length and used to make long wigs for girls.
