On Thursday 22nd September 2016 Dr Ingrid Roscoe, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, visited Xiros to present the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
Upon her arrival at Xiros’ headquarters near Leeds-Bradford Airport Dr Roscoe visited a number of different areas of the business, from Research and Development to Sales and Marketing. After a tour of the state of the art manufacturing facilities, during which she inspected some of the company’s purpose-built custom machinery, the Lord-Lieutenant described the medical devices which Xiros creates as “elegant”.
Dr Roscoe presented the Queen’s Award for Enterprise crystal bowl and a scroll bearing the signature of Her Majesty the Queen to Xiros’ Chairman and Technical Director, Dr Bahaa Seedhom.
Accepting the award, Dr Seedhom said: “On behalf of my colleagues I thank you very much. It is our intention to continue to develop useful products in diverse fields within orthopaedics. We hope we will positively impact the lives of a greater number of folk in developing countries, and we would like very much to be worthy of another Queen’s Award in a few years’ time.”
Xiros received the award in the category of International Trade, in recognition of having achieved outstanding overseas sales growth over the last three years.
