Following our nomination earlier this year as Responsible Business Champion for Leeds North-West, Xiros was pleased to be highly commended at the 2016 APCRG National Responsible Business Champion Awards.
The APCRG, or All-Party Parliamentary Corporate Responsibility Group, is an organization which aims to promote debate and understanding of corporate social responsibility within Parliament. The award is presented annually for responsible business practice, and MPs from across the country are invited to nominate companies within their constituencies which go the extra mile to support their local communities. Xiros was nominated by Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North-West, who described us as “a fantastic example of a local business”.
The overall winner of the 2016 National Responsible Business Champion title was officially announced at a reception held at Parliament on 6th July. Although Xiros did not win the national award, we were highly commended by the Parliamentary judging panel for our contributions to the community and environment, which was a fantastic achievement.
We offer our congratulations to Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd., overall winner of the award, and also to the other companies who reached the final stages and were present at the reception. Every organization nominated by their local MP as a Responsible Business Champion had made significant contributions to their local communities, and to have been shortlisted from a group of so many worthy competitors for the title is the mark of a truly outstanding company.
